At Childo, we take your privacy seriously — especially when it comes to children's data. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
What Data We Collect
Childo collects only the minimum data required to provide the service:
- Parent account data: email address and display name.
- Child profiles: name and chosen avatar. No personal data from the child is required.
- Task data: titles, descriptions, coin values, deadlines, and completion status.
- Photos: only those submitted by the child as task completion proof.
- Coin history: coin award and spend transactions within the family account.
How We Use Your Data
Data is used solely to provide Childo's features:
- Syncing tasks and coins between parent and child devices.
- Displaying task history and coin balances.
- Storing photos as task completion evidence.
We do not sell your data to third parties and do not use it for advertising purposes.
Photos
Photos submitted by children as task completion proof are stored securely and are only visible to the parent account associated with the child. Photos are not shared with third parties and are automatically deleted when the associated task is removed.
Children's Data Protection
Childo does not collect personal data from children during sign-up. A child's account is created and managed by the parent. Children join the app via QR code only — no email address or password required.
Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We regularly audit our security practices to keep your family's data safe.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data — including child profiles, tasks, and photos — at any time. Contact us at privacy@childo.app.
